About the Role

The Senior Buyer - Operational Procurement plays a critical role in ensuring that procurement activities are executed efficiently and cost-effectively within the Aviation & Aero Engine MRO division. This position involves collaborating with multiple departments to address high-value procurement needs, making informed purchasing decisions, and managing supplier relationships to meet operational and business objectives. Responsibilities include end-to-end procurement processes such as sourcing, negotiation, purchase order processing, and order tracking, with a strong focus on compliance with company policies and aviation regulations. The ideal candidate leverages market insights and procurement best practices to drive cost savings and enhance procurement efficiency.

Your Responsibilities

• Procurement Planning & Sourcing Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand procurement needs, validate quality requirements, lead RFPs for high-value indirect materials and services, and conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Purchase Order Processing & Order Tracking: Review and process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, monitor approval workflows, track orders through to delivery, and ensure compliance with customs and logistics requirements.
• Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Maintain clear communication with internal teams, provide procurement status updates, participate in management meetings, and report on supplier performance and cost-saving initiatives.
• Supplier Relationship Management & Negotiation: Build strong supplier partnerships, conduct negotiations for competitive pricing and terms, evaluate supplier performance, and identify opportunities for vendor consolidation.
• Quality Assurance & Issue Resolution: Inspect received stock for compliance with quality standards, address non-conformities, coordinate with quality and engineering teams, and maintain records for continuous improvement.
• Vendor Research, Onboarding & Compliance: Research potential suppliers, evaluate supplier data, manage vendor onboarding documentation, and ensure compliance with aviation safety and regulatory standards.
• Continuous Improvement & Additional Duties: Support procurement initiatives, assist in policy development, participate in training, and undertake ad-hoc procurement tasks as needed.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a motivated Senior Buyer with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CIPS or CPSM are advantageous. The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in operational procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the aviation, aerospace, or MRO sectors. Proven expertise in procurement strategy execution, contract negotiation, and managing complex procurement processes is essential. Familiarity with ERP procurement systems like Oracle or SAP and procurement analytics tools is a plus. Strong competencies include strategic sourcing, effective communication, negotiation skills, analytical thinking, technical proficiency, market acumen, regulatory compliance, problem-solving, and teamwork. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively across functions to support operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
