Job Description

The Senior Officer – Engineering Production Support (Capacity Planning) plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of engine repair and overhaul processes. This position is responsible for forecasting, planning, scheduling, and monitoring alignment of engine inputs with organizational capacity, including manpower, tooling, and workspace availability. Reporting to the Manager – Engineering Production Support within the Aviation and Aero Engine MRO division, the role supports gated project management processes, drives adherence to schedules, identifies deviations, and facilitates timely resolution of constraints to meet operational targets and customer commitments.

Responsibilities
  • Capacity Planning and Induction Forecasting (30%): Forecast annual induction slots considering work-in-progress, budgets, and resource constraints; collaborate with Commercial and Engineering teams to update induction plans; chair weekly planning meetings and issue detailed weekly induction schedules.
  • Engine Input Scheduling (25%): Develop and maintain schedules per engine based on approved work scopes and kit readiness; produce and disseminate Streamer/Project Milestone Charts and Strip/Kit/Build Schedules; ensure timely schedule updates aligned with project progress.
  • Daily and Weekly Gate Meeting Participation (20%): Lead Gate 0–4 meetings to review project status, address schedule-impacting issues, and drive resolution of kit-related challenges; implement recovery plans and update schedules according to customer feedback and solution feasibility.
  • Resource Planning and System Updates (15%): Keep Capacity Planning and Scheduling System current; confirm slot availability and resource requirements including equipment, manpower, and tools; monitor and report man-hour utilization against plans.
  • Quarterly Manpower Forecasting and Reporting (5%): Prepare quarterly induction and workload reports comparing scheduled vs. actual man-hours; highlight adverse trends for corrective action.
  • Other Duties (5%): Support additional tasks and initiatives as assigned by management or department leadership.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Associate Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required; a Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred and considered a significant advantage.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in aviation, particularly in planning, scheduling, or operations coordination.
  • Proven experience in capacity and resource planning using ERP systems such as Oracle.
  • Strong understanding of engine maintenance workflows and planning dependencies.
Skills
  • Capacity and Resource Planning: Expertise in forecasting and allocating manpower, tooling, and workspace to meet workload and throughput targets.
  • Production Scheduling: Skilled in developing and maintaining engine input schedules aligned with scope, kit readiness, and resource availability, with the ability to manage recovery actions.
  • ERP and Planning Tools Proficiency: Competent in using enterprise systems like Oracle and scheduling tools to ensure schedule visibility, updates, and reporting.
  • Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving: Ability to identify risks via data analysis, mitigate scheduling conflicts, and implement recovery plans effectively.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Strong collaboration skills with Production, Engineering, Commercial, and Supply Chain teams to align schedules and resources.
  • Manpower Forecasting and Reporting: Experienced in tracking actual versus planned man-hours and producing timely variance reports.
  • Project Milestone and Kit Schedule Management: Proficient in preparing, updating, and enforcing adherence to streamer and kit schedules supporting project milestones and customer timelines.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Commitment to identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance planning efficiency and throughput.
Education

Minimum education requirement is a Diploma or Associate Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree are strongly preferred, as it provides a greater advantage for this role.
