About the Role

The Senior Engineer - Repair Development plays a pivotal role in advancing our aviation and aero engine MRO capabilities. This position focuses on developing, implementing, and optimizing component repair processes by establishing process parameters and validating repairs through First Article Inspection (FAIR). You will lead the introduction of new repair capabilities, oversee capital equipment acquisition and commissioning, and ensure repair solutions meet operational and business objectives. Reporting to the Director of the Center of Excellence, you will provide technical leadership, support sectional planning, and supervise engineers to align with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

Your Responsibilities
  • Repair Capability Strategy & Development (30%): Monitor current repair capabilities, identify gaps in tooling, skills, and processes, and develop action plans to enhance repair capabilities across engine types.
  • Capability Planning & KPI Management (15%): Plan annual capability development initiatives and monitor performance against KPIs to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
  • CAPEX Planning & Equipment Implementation (15%): Prepare capital expenditure justifications, perform technical and financial evaluations, and oversee acquisition and commissioning of equipment.
  • Repair Validation & OEM Approval (15%): Validate repair procedures for compliance with industry and OEM standards and lead FAIR package preparation and submission for OEM approval.
  • Quality, Safety & Environmental Compliance (10%): Ensure adherence to company quality, safety, health, and environmental regulations and integrate compliance into all repair activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Capability Records (10%): Maintain compliance with FAA, EASA, and OEM standards and keep accurate documentation of component capabilities.
  • Continuous Improvement & Lean Implementation (5%): Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to foster continuous improvement.
Who we are looking for

We seek an experienced Senior Engineer with 8 to 10 years in aviation, MRO, or related industrial operations, including 1 to 3 years in a supervisory or first-line leadership role. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field, with preferred certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, GD&T, and OEM repair/technical certifications (e.g., Rolls-Royce, GE, Pratt & Whitney). Knowledge of AS9100, aviation quality systems, and NDT Level I/II is advantageous.

You must demonstrate expert proficiency in repair capability development, technical leadership, OEM and regulatory compliance, and repair validation management. Strong skills in CAPEX planning, analytical thinking, continuous improvement, and advanced communication for stakeholder coordination are essential to succeed in this role.
